1) EXCLUSIVE DIVE DESTINATION: Dunbar Rock, located off the coast of Honduras, offers one of the Caribbean's best exclusive and secluded diving experiences. After arriving in Honduras, divers either take the ferry or a smaller plane to the bay island Guanaja. Then divers take about a 20 minute boat ride to Dunbar Rock. Getting there is half the fun!
2) DIVE OPERATION: The dive boat is very nice and ready for departure every morning. They offer dive packages and guides to show all the incredible marine life and coral reef formations. We had an incredible week with our Captain, Raynel, and Guide, Carlos.
3) PRISTINE CORAL REEFS: The waters around Dunbar Rock boast vibrant and healthy coral reefs ready to be explored. Divers can seek out diverse marine life, including colorful coral formations, and tropical fish, making it a haven for underwater photographers.
4) VARIETY OF DIVE SITES: Dunbar Rock provides access to a variety of dive sites and is appropriate for divers of all skill levels. There are shallow reefs suitable for new divers, as well as deeper sites with large swim-throughs. The Jado Trader is a 240 foot wreck sunk in 1987 to form one of the richest artificial reefs around Guanaja. The Jado Trader rests on a sandy bottom, completely intact and in waters between 80 and 110 feet, which makes it suitable for more advanced divers.
5) Dunbar Rock Resort is absolutely stunning! Your meals are made to order and they have a fully stocked bar, and small swimming pool perfect for looking out over the Caribbean. The people that work at the resort are some of the friendliest that I've ever met and I can't wait to go back to see friends I made on my first trip.
